Hydrodynamics

Hydrodynamics is a core capability at 7Waves. We analyse the behaviour of floating and fixed marine structures under realistic environmental loading, including waves, wind, and currents. Typical scopes include global motion response, first- and second-order wave loads, air gap assessment, and load transfer into structural models.

Our team supports concept, FEED, and detailed design phases with robust hydrodynamic studies for FPSOs, semi-submersibles, floating wind concepts, offshore fish farms, and other marine structures. We work to recognised standards including DNV, ISO, and NORSOK, and provide documentation suitable for class and regulatory review.

Hydrodynamic output is tightly linked to structural integrity and design verification. We provide load cases, response statistics, and engineering interpretation that directly support fatigue analysis, ultimate limit state checks, and design optimisation.
